Our

Classroom Critters

Bearded Dragon

This adorable little guy is named Rex!

Rex is a bearded dragon that lives in our classroom!!  Bearded dragons are only naturally found in Australia's desert regions. Bearded dragons require special care to mimic these desert-like living conditions.

Beta Fish

This beautiful male Beta Fish is blue with sparkly, iridescent scales-he even has some dark red highlights!  Our class named him Blue!

He is also known as a Siamese Fighting Fish but alone, in his bowl, he seems very calm and gentle.

Mealworms

These creepy crawly critters are very interesting to observe!

Mealworms are the larva of the darkling beetle and they are one of Rex's favorite snacks.  In this one container, we can observe the entire lifecycle of the mealworm as it goes through a full metamorphosis.~ egg, larva (mealworm), pupa, adult (darkling beetle)
